David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
