Dominant Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Accolades.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive year.
The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the most on tour – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a historic £11m in earnings.
She received almost 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a greater prominence".
