Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates in the frame to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the team's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the team - are part of the options to be evaluated by the club ownership.

Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a possible hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton manager - who played over a century of games for the club during his time as a player - is considered a strong candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves board as they begin the process of appointing a fresh manager.

O'Neil is additionally emerging as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a surprising appointment considering he was released by the club in December last year.

The ex- West Ham United midfielder is out of work meaning Wolves would not need to pay any compensation.
