Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Social Media
The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
